WAIT. BE PATIENT. THE STORM WILL PASS AND SPRING WILL COME
— ROBERT H. SCHULLER

This month's playlist is inspired by my favourite season - Spring! The spring sunshine and the flowers beginning to bloom after a long, cold grey winter are things I will always savour and be grateful for.

I have selected over 2hrs of beautiful, soothing and uplifting music to help you sleep, find a moment of calm or just take your mind off the surreal world we live in at the moment.

This playlist is full of my favourites, in particular Max Richter’s stunning ‘Spring Recomposed’, taken from his album where he recomposed the entirety of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. A brave man given how popular and well known this work is nearly 300 years after it was written! But in my humble opinion ‘Recomposed’ is a masterpiece every bit as good as the original, just from a very different time.

Both have special places in my memory bank, the original from an incredible concert Graham and I happened upon while we were on holiday in Venice many years ago which was played on original Baroque instruments in a stunning deconsecrated church with amazing acoustics. Recomposed, because the first two movements of Spring were these pieces Graham and I chose to walk back down the aisle to when we got married, so they were the first pieces of music we shared as husband and wife.

I’d love to know if any of these pieces hold special memories for you or indeed any pieces that hold special memories for you, let me know in the comments below.
